As the weather begins to cool off, and we start to take back all those terrible things we said about summer (how could it ever be “too hot”?), we start to see the dark colors come out, the thick furs crawling the street and we are reminded, “Ah yes, it is winter.”
But don’t fret! Dry those eyes, before the tears turn to ice. A new season means new fashion and the first trend of the winter is quite an unexpected one…
The black veils are bringing a sort of classic drama back to outfits this winter. Designers like Faustine Rome were spotted at Paris Fashion Week donning the quirky headgear and proving that paired with the right jacket and dress, the veil doesn’t have to look like funeral-couture. The veil, when pulled off well, in reminiscent of old Hollywood and prohibition era glamour, which is also en vogue right now.

In other news, last night was the LA premier of Twilight Number Four: Part One. Should we blame Harry Potter for the business model of breaking up the last entry of a series into multiple parts? There was no Lord of the Rings 3: Parts One and Two. Anyway! The glamour was thick in the air as sugar, spice and everything pregnant (spoilers!) came down on Tinsel Town. 13 year olds nationwide cashed in their one night of parent-sponsored staying out late and crowded the front of the Nokia Theatre Los Angeles – some had flown 700 miles just for the premier! The cast did not disappoint, showing up and looking exactly like the characters they play in the movie.
Notorious Twilight No. 1 Fan Bruno Mars also attended the proceedings. His crooner-special “It Will Rain” is the lead single off the Twilight Soundtrack, and he has confessed to breaking dawn with his tears after watching “Breaking Dawn.”
The super cool musician who penned the lead song on the Twilight: Breaking Dawn soundtrack told us he broke down watching the latest vampire film. In a top secret Chelsea location Bruno exclusively told us: “I watched some parts that made me laugh. I watched some parts that made me bawl into tears and just cry and cry.” (via OMG)
Twilight tears: confirmed! So did any one you go see the movie? Did you wear a veil?! Personally, I’ve gotten the gaunt, corny love story bug out of my system and can’t wait for the next young-adult-novel-series-turned film-trilogy, THE HUNGER GAMES to be released next March. Sink your teeth (lololol get it?) into this trailer and you’ll see what I’m saying. Until next time!
